We created this dreamy, ultra-romantic piece (Coltrane made it famous as an instrumental) at Capitol in LA. It was (my co-producer+pianist) Shelly Berg's wedding song, and I wanted to pay tribute to him and his wonderful wife, Julia. Dean Parks (guitar) started playing the swirling, synth-like sound at the top and we all just got lost in the vibe. What resulted was this lush, layered sound that feels sweet and seductive at the same time. Note Peter Erskine's legendary jazz drumming and Shelly's epic piano solo!
